My work has been influenced by Louise Bourgeois and Tracey Emin. Both of these women have used  the traditional skills of knitting, sewing or tapestry to produce amazing Art Works, they have managed to place handcrafts fair and square into a fine art context. Their work continues to inspire me.
 

Knitting and sewing was taught to me as a child by my mother, these skills served me will over the years in a practical way, making clothes for family. The expertise gained over this time now enables me to take knitting needles and wool or needle and thread to make my own Fine Art Work, this is a challenge, but it is stimulating and exciting.
